Figured it out and itfeltgood (*spoilers*)

January 11, 2009

Francisco had an early lead by noting the odd numbering.

We were working on Sample Puzzle 5 and I got the wild hair to try and take the letter/symbol from the clues based on the numbers.  I had to try it a couple different times because I got it wrong a few times and then I wasn’t counting spaces or symbols.

I finally hit upon ASCII and put things together from there.

The next one looks awesome but I don’t have much for ideas yet…

Sample Puzzle 5

January 8, 2009

I’m a little one-track minded these days but it’s fun.

I solved sample puzzle 4 but only with a lot of help from Francisco and Monica.  I’d never looked at a page source before and would have been stuck there indefinitely.  I was suspicious but happy to be confirmed when they pointed out how the black line follows the question which gives the answer.

Phew!  Talk about convoluted.  I think that’s what you need anymore for puzzles as people know a lot of the classics and tear apart new ones just as fast.

I’m on sample puzzle 5 right now with Francisco and Monica said she didn’t have the time right now but would catch up when she could.

I’ve decided to include the puzzles on their own pages.  I’ll leave the images I already have in my blog but if you want to see the individual puzzles you can go to the links on the side (or at the bottom of the main page depending on where you are).  I’ve included the original links in case you want to see if you’ve got it figured out.

I’ve got the crossword solved but am not really sure where to go from here…
